BSN@HOME Advising & Application

 

  • All BSN@HOME/Collaborative nursing students must complete their General Education requirements (except CHEM 250/BIOL 282) before being admitted to their Nursing Major portion.

  • First please apply and get admitted by the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

  • Once you are admitted, you will receive a link to make an appointment with your UARC advisor (Kim or Shane)!

  • You can apply to start the BSN@HOME Major portion AFTER Gen Eds are done. Deadlines are March 1st (Summer and Fall admits) and August 30th (Spring admits). You will be notified to interview virtually with a Nursing faculty after the deadline. Admission decision will be emailed to you by College of Nursing.

Nursing curriculum can be completed within 12-16 months.

Nursing curriculum can be completed in 2 years with 6 credits per semester. 

How to take Chem 250/BIOL 282 from UW Colleges Online

 

If you graduated AFTER Fall 2006 from your ADN program, and haven't completed CHEM 101+102, and BIOL 211+212+233; you will need CHEM 250 and/or BIOL 282. Talk to your UARC advisor (Mehgan Clark, Shane Hua, Kim Vandehey).

  1. Apply as a special student to UW Colleges Online (no application fee)

  2. Register for Chem 250/BIO 282

  3. Earn a C or better

  4. Send your official transcripts to UW Oshkosh

  5. Check your STAR.  Evaluation and posting may take 2-3 weeks. 

  6. After class is posted to your STAR as a CHEM elective (32-001)/ BIOL elective (26-001), email your UARC Advisor and include your ID number.  

  7. UARC  advisor completes paperwork to ensure that the Chemistry/Biology Requirement is met.

  8. Check your STAR 2-3 weeks to ensure that the STAR is up-to-date.

Step 1:  Log into your Titan Web-->Student Center.  Under the [Academics Tab], click on the [Search] option.

 

Step 2:  In the search page, in the second drop down box, select the term you are looking for (e.g. Spring 2016).  

 

Step 3:  Expand the [Additional Search Criteria] tab, where it says [Mode of Instruction], select 100% Online, then [Search].

 

Step 4:  Find the course that works for you (Be sure NOT to select courses that are labeled as Quest Classes.  On the right hand side, click the SELECT box.  

 

Step 5:  You will then be taken to a screen that allows you to Add the course you just selected.  On this screen select the box that says NEXT, and the course will be added to your Shopping Cart.


Step 6:  Select the [Shopping Cart] tab near the top of the screen.

 

Step 7:  You will see a section indicating what semester Shopping Cart you are looking at (i.e. Fall 2015).  Then you will see a box that allows you to Select which courses you want to enroll in.

 

Step 8:  Click the [Enroll] button.

 

Step 9:  Click the [Finish Enrolling] button. Until you do this you are not officially enrolled in the course.


Step 10:  You will then be taken to a new screen that will show you whether or not your enrollment was successful.  If there is a green check mark that means it was successful, a red X means there was an error and you were not enrolled.
